Introduction to me…
Hi there, I’m Ruth, welcome to my website and blog all about gifts. Here is a little introduction with information about me. I hope you enjoy reading.
Originally, I am from lovely Cork in Ireland where my family still live. In 2003, I moved to sunny Jersey in the Channel Islands. I loved living on the tiny island of Jersey. The 9 x 5 mile island meant that I was never more than 2.5 miles from the sea. I ended up living on Jersey for 8 years. In 2010, I met my wonderful (now) husband, Roger, and decided to move to Surrey where we live happily. Since then I have become mother to a beautiful 9 month old daughter, Emelia.
My career to date has been in hospitality and I have studied and worked in the hotel industry for 22 years. Hospitality allowed me to travel and meet new, interesting people, which I love. Now that I am a Mum, a new phase has begun in my life. I am a new stay-at-home Mum enjoying spending each day with my little one but also enjoying spending whatever spare time I have on my blogging adventure.
Introduction to The Thoughtful Gifter…
The idea for The Thoughtful Gifter came to me recently when looking for gifts for fast approaching occasions when, being a new Mum, I had limited time to research new gift ideas. Frustratingly, I realised that there was no independent place that I could go to find good, unbiased ideas for gifts. All websites I came across were promoting their own generic gifts which were uninspiring. I came to the conclusion that sharing thoughtful gift ideas would be useful to help others with the same dilemma.
I’ve always had an interest in writing and general creativity, I especially love crafting, sewing and designing. Also, over the years, I have researched and given lots of gifts for family and friends and I have received some fantastic gifts in return. Using some of this experience, along with lots of research, I hope to provide lots of great ideas for you.
How it works…
I write regular blogs with lots of gift ideas for a variety of occasions. The gift ideas I suggest have been researched or given to me by other people. I will only feature gift ideas that I think would make thoughtful gifts. I have no connection with the products, brands or websites that I recommend and my suggestions are my own personal views. However, in order to fund my little gift idea blog and website, some of the links on my blogs and website are “affiliate links”. This means I may receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you choose to make a purchase. For further information, please read my full Affiliate Disclosure Statement. If you purchase from a website through my blog, I’d like to thank you. Your support and affirmation of my gift ideas is very gratefully received.
If you would like to get in contact with me, please feel free to email me. I would love to hear from you.
I am also happy to work and collaborate with others be this in the form of guest posts, articles, reviews or other methods. Please get in touch and I would be happy to have a conversation.
